The short version
We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and do forestry work on your property. We don't sell your information, we don't share it for marketing, and we don't send newsletters you didn't ask for.
What we collect
- Information you give us — your name, email address, phone number, property location and whatever you tell us about your woodlot when you use the contact form, call, or email.
- Information gathered during our work — if you become a client, this includes property details, forest inventory data, mapping and photographs collected in the course of preparing a plan or carrying out work.
- Basic website data — our host records standard technical information such as page requests and approximate location, used only to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a site visit
- To prepare, deliver and support the forestry services you've engaged us for
- To submit documents on your behalf where you've asked us to — for example, a Managed Forest Plan submitted for MFTIP approval
- To meet our record-keeping and legal obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share it only when it's necessary to do the work you've hired us for, or when the law requires it:
- Government ministries and program administrators — where a plan or application must be submitted for approval, and only with your knowledge.
- Contractors working on your project — for example, a planting crew or harvest operator, limited to what they need to do the job.
- Service providers that run our systems — our website host and email provider process messages on our behalf.
Enquiries sent through this website are processed by Cloudflare and delivered to our email inbox. Nothing you send through the form is stored on the website itself.
How long we keep it
General enquiries that don't lead to work are kept only as long as they're useful, then deleted. Client records — plans, inventory data and mapping — are retained for as long as we may reasonably need them to support your property and to meet professional and legal record-keeping requirements.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Just get in touch and we'll take care of it. If you're ever unsatisfied with how we've handled your information, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
